Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my wonderful Mom's birthday. She has always been the best Mom a girl could ask for and now she is doing the same thing with her grandchildren! The picture below is of Dad and Mom with their grandkids at Christmas with the gingerbread cookies she made them. Anytime we visit there, or they come here, Nana is sure to have chocolate chip cookies in tow for them! Thanks, Mom, for being so special to our family!

Proud To Be American Day

This was Bryce's school's 42nd year to have 'Proud To Be American Day'. All of the grades make matching shirts and at first there is a program. It involves some speakers, a flag raising, awards to some of the 5th graders, and other patriotic activities. After the ceremony is over, the whole elementary school does a 30 minute 'parade' around the subdivision that is by the school. They make signs and put them everywhere and all carry little flags. It is just a really neat day- it's hard to explain. Dylan and Cayden enjoyed it also!

Here they are raising the flag. Afterwards, everyone recites the Plegde of Allegiance, Pledge to the Texas flag, and a high school student did an excellent job of a solo Star Spangled Banner.

This is the shirt they all made. It's a butterfly- the wings are their hand prints and the body is their foot print. The teachers all had shirts with little butterflies made from each child's fingerprint.

This is the 1st grade banner that they take turns carrying in the parade. (Bryce is on the right side)

Bryce's Field Trip

Bryce had his end of school field trip at a really awesome park here. We met him there, so all 3 of the boys had fun playing together with Bryce's friends.

Happy Birthday, Renita!

Today is Renita's 40th birthday!! Thanks for being such an awesome sister, Renita!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

We had a surprise party for Renita Friday night. We were pretty nice to her- look at that pretty cake! :)

Whew- but look what happens when you light 40 candles!!

Renita and I on Sunday morning. It was fun to be with Renita and her family on Mother's Day this year!

Me with my boys after they gave me my awesome Mother's Day gifts! I have a really thoughtful husband, so it makes it fun for all of us!

Soccer Season Ends

Soccer season came to an end. Both boys had so much fun this year! This was Bryce's 7th season with the same coach & team, so he loves seeing all of his friends al practices and games! This was Dylan's 3rd season and he did wonderful! He was the goal maker for the team, making 8 - 10 goals each game (but whose counting??) :)

Camping with Papa and Daddy

For the 3rd year in a row, Dave and Dad have taken Bryce & Dylan on a camping trip to Colorado Bend State Park with some other Dads and their boys. They look forward to it every year! I don't know who enjoys it the most, the younger boys or the 'older' boys! Cayden will get to go next year, but Mom & I kept him busy and I think he had fun with us! I know Mom and I enjoyed our time together- working in the yard and all kinds of shopping!

Dad with his hat 'Great Dads Get Promoted To Grandpa'. How true! We had the best parents and now they are the best grandparents to our kids!!

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend at Papa and Nana's. They always make it so much fun for the boys and Dave & I love being 'out in the country'!

Hunting Easter eggs- of course the ones they really liked are the ones that Papa & Nana put money in! :)

The boys and Dave went with Papa to the cow auction on Saturday morning. They had so much fun looking at all of the animals and were pretty impressed when Papa 'bid' on cows! Mom & I had a long day of shopping and loved it!!

It's not going to Papa and Nana's unless you fish a little! The boys had a ball pulling in about 30 fish Saturday afternoon. They would cast their line out and immediately have a fish on it- very exciting for them and Papa and Daddy !! We brought frozen fish home with us and had a fish fry on Monday night!

I think Papa loves fishing with his grandsons just as much as they love fishing with him!!

I believe this was the first time Cayden really 'got into' fishing! He'd say "I got one, I got one" and instead of reeling his line in, he'd start walking backwards to pull it in!
