Thanksgiving at the Beach!

This year we decided to do something a little different for Thanksgiving. So, we spent a week on the Florida beach! Ft. Lauderdale is awesome this time of year- warm enough for perfect days on the beach, and cools off to perfect temperatures in the evening. We had an absolute wonderful time!

This sandcastle was actually in the lobby of the hotel.

The view off of our hotel balcony- what a way to wake up!!

When you take 3 little boys for a walk on the beach, they look for all kinds of treasure! No sand dollars or pretty shells, but coconuts!! Of course, we're in Florida, so the coconuts are floating everywhere!

More 'treasure'- pieces of beautiful blue jellyfish!!

Dylan loved collecting all of the beans from the seaweed! After this walk on the beach, there were no more places left on him to tuck in a bean!

Beach Fun!

One day, Dave took Bryce & Dylan kayaking in the ocean. They loved it!

Dylan is our sandcastle boy! We all had fun building one each day, but Dylan has the most interest in it.

Everglades Airboat Ride

One afternoon we went to the Everglades and took the airboat ride out into the swamp. We saw 2 very large iguana, a raccoon and lots of species of birds. But what we really wanted to see was an alligator! And we did!

Up close and personal! It swam right around our boat- we could've reached out and touched him if we wanted to!

...more fun in Florida

We had one rainy day while we were there, so we went to the museum, which was very hands-on for the kids! The boys got to touch a few things they had never touched- like a snake!

The beach had a good playground which we all enjoyed! Our boys love to swing!

Bryce and Dylan on the tire swing.

Feeding the seagulls is always a favorite!

The hotel had a climbing rope out on the beach. This morning had a chilly wind, so a jacket felt great to Dave & I. Of course, the boys had no idea it was cool!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

After a full day at the beach, we are off to eat our Thanksgiving dinner. We had reservations at a seafood restaurant on the water. They made a really good turkey feast, even though seafood was their specialty! Bryce loves pumpkin pipe, so he was happy to see that as one of the dessert choices!

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Dave celebrated his 41st birthday on the 19th of November. (Due to 'technical difficulties' I wasn't able to post his birthday that day) Anyway, happy birthday to my wonderful hubby! I'm so glad you are the Daddy to my 3 precious boys! You're the best!!

Soccer Ends

This soccer season has come to an end. The boys had so much fun playing with their buddies again.

Bryce has had Coach Phil Antunes since he started at 4 years old.

Dylan with Coach Ben Navarro, which he's had for the past 3 seasons.

Fun with Kevin & Matt

The boys had a fun time with the workers this week. They really enjoyed it when Matt went fishing! They loved hanging out at the pond with him- especially when he pulled in this 6 pound (a little over!) catfish! We had a fish fry the next night along with some other fish we have had in the freezer waiting to be eaten!

Weekend Fun

We had a fun evening Saturday with lots of friends in the area north of us. It was a beautiful evening and perfect for an outdoor gathering.

Cayden having his chance to hit the pinata.

The boys loved the hayride we took down to the campfire. I love this picture of the boys looking out of the trailer. It was actually pitch dark and I can't believe I got such a good picture without even knowing it! :)

Our family snuggled up on the hayride.

Dylan loved roasting the marshmallows. He knows that Mommy likes the burned ones, so he'd catch them on fire, blow it out, and then hand them to me!

Bryce enjoyng a s'more.

Halloween Party!

We hosted a Halloween party here at our home. It was a blast- lots of fun was had by all! We had pumpkin painting for the kiddos, and fun games. The food was yummy- everyone contributed their halloween goodies!

The boys have been looking forward to the party. The night before, they decorated the cupcakes! The clean-up lasted longer than the decorating, but they had fun!

Here I am with my hubby?? and sweet Superman Cayden.

Getting started with the pumpkin painting.

We had the most beautiful (& yummy!) desserts, so I had to take a picture!

The Dads all sat around with their bags of candy and the kids filed around trick-or-treating.

Happy Halloween !!

Pumpkin Carving Fun!

We carved pumpkins Friday. The boys had fun sharing in the fun with their friends, Benjamin and Katherine.

Bryce got quite serious with the face pattern.

Dylan helping with the carving.

The boys with their jack-o-lantern and Whiskers.

All the carved and painted pumpkins- what fun!

Rodeo

We went to the rodeo near us a few weeks ago. We all love the rodeo! Here's our cowboys.

Dylan wanted to dress 'cowboy style'. Pretty handsome cowboy, don't you say!

Bryce watching the rodeo.

This is how Cayden started out the rodeo! It was a little loud!

He ended up loving it and got used to the noise!
