Weekend Project

We got started clearing away the brush in our tree line area this weekend. We've been in our house about 16 months now and this brush area was cleared away when we started building, but we had more important things to worry about while we were building! You can see the trees behind all the brush in the first & last pictures, so it'll be nice to see that now, instead of all the dead brush! The boys enjoyed using the new machete that their Dad bought for them. I was a nervous wreck, of course, saying all the things they should expect Mommy to say..." Be CAREFUL... Do you realize how sharp that thing is?... Go far away from anyone before you start swinging that thing... Are y'all ready to take a break?..." Dave P. came and brought his chainsaw and ALL of the boys, big and small, had a fun time. We have a big burn pile already, but there are a few more good days of work still ahead of them. (For those of you who have been at our house, it is the woodsy area on the garage-side of the house that they are working on.)
